L/Sgt. George Price

L/Cpl. George Price, formerly of the Cheshire Regiment, served as a Lance Corporal with the HQ Troop (Intelligence Section) of No.6 Commando from, at least, October 1942 until, at least, 30th August 1943 when, having been promoted, he was serving as the Intelligence Section Lance-Sergeant of the Commando HQ.

L/Sgt. George Price was reported as being Killed In Action (KIA) on 10th June 1944, aged 25 years.

George was the son of George Stubbs Price and Florence Price, of Walney, Lancashire. He was laid to rest in Hermanville War Cemetery (Calvados, Normandy, France). Grave 1.E.18.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘At the going down of the sun, and in the morning.  We will remember him.’
